This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal information provided by donors, sponsors, volunteers, participants, grant applicants and relations (hereafter: Personal Data), as well as data obtained from visits to and use of the websites of Living Stone Ministries. Because Living Stone Ministries is careful with your privacy and data, we want to use information about you in the most secure way possible. In this statement you can read more about what data this is and why we need it.

Why do we process personal data?
We process personal data for the following purposes:

  1. The realization and execution of your donation(s) and/or gift(s)
    We record data if you come into contact with us or contribute financially to our goals as a donor, volunteer, organization, interested party or participant in one of our actions, events or activities related to your involvement within Living Stone Ministries. Only relevant data are recorded, for example: name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth, marital status, family composition and your bank account number and/or payment details (when you transfer an amount to Living Stone Ministries or indicate that you want to be financially involved) and participation details. This processing involves an agreement between donor and us.
  2. Informing about activities
    We keep our donors, givers, volunteers and other interested parties informed of our activities by telephone, e-mail, post, website and social media. In doing so, we may also ask you for your (financial) support. Data such as name, address, telephone number and email address are recorded for this purpose. This processing involves consent or legitimate marketing interest. A legitimate marketing interest only applies if processing is demonstrably necessary to carry out our activities. If you do not appreciate this, you can unsubscribe from every e-mail or phone call. Of course, you can also unsubscribe via the contact details under ''Your rights''.
  3. Sending information brochures and other written information
    Through us you can use our web shop or request brochures and similar material regarding our promotions and events. By providing us with your name, address and e-mail, we can send these purchases and/or requests by post or e-mail. For this processing, consent must be given by the buyer/applicant.
  4. Optimizing the website and email
    In order to optimize the content of our emails, we may view and record open and click rates of our emails on an individual level. We do this to keep our messaging as interesting as possible for our readers. On our website we place cookies to optimize our website and to offer you targeted content.   5. Social media advertising opportunities

    Living Stone Ministries analyzes and combines (personal) data from our own database and website, occasionally supplemented with information from public sources. Living Stone Ministries uses the analyses for the following purposes:
    • providing insight into and better understanding of our supporters
    • adapting our approach, evangelism, events, campaigns and actions to/for/with our supporters in the best possible way
    • informing about other events, campaigns and actions of Living Stone Ministries
    • approaching or excluding specific target groups on social media like Facebook and Instagram
    • Living Stone Ministries does not use automated decision making.
  7. For Recruitment & Selection
    Living Stone Ministries uses the personal data of its applicants as part of the recruitment and selection process to assess the suitability of candidates. Personal data is obtained directly from applicants and (with permission) through references provided. We collect from our applicants: name, address and residence details, telephone number and e-mail address, date of birth, gender, references, motivation letter and CV (possibly with photo) and other data provided by the applicant for the purpose of the application and relevant to the selection. Depending on the position, additional information and personal data may be requested by Living Stone Ministries during the application process, if this contributes to the assessment of suitability for the work.
  8. Retention period of applicant data
    Living Stone Ministries keeps the personal data of rejected applicants for a maximum of 4 weeks after the closing of the application procedure. With the applicant's permission, Living Stone Ministries can keep the personal data for one year longer, in case a suitable position becomes available in that year. If the applicant is employed by Living Stone Ministries, certain data will be kept longer. Applicants may request at any time to have application data deleted or to see it.
  9. When do we collect personal data?
    We collect personal data via various forms on lsm.nl and our event websites when you become a donor or make a donation, pass on your wish to include us in your estate or participate in one of our actions or events, we may ask for your personal data. We also do this when you register to receive the (email) newsletter, request information, inquire about our activities, ask a question or respond to our website. Sometimes personal data is validated or combined by Living Stone Ministries with information from external sources, for example by consulting public sources and/or by enriching data through third parties. This is how we keep our database up-to-date.
  10. Retention of (personal) data
    Your personal data will not be kept longer than necessary for the purpose of data processing.
  11. How do we secure data?
    We ensure appropriate security of the personal data we process, in line with applicable legal requirements and guidelines.
  12. Engaging third parties
    We engage third parties in the performance of its services. Insofar as these third parties process personal data in the performance of their services, they do so in the capacity of processors. All our processors are obliged to protect your personal data and process your personal data in EU member states or there are appropriate safeguards in place.
  13. Exchange of personal data with third parties
    The personal data that we process from you will be treated confidentially and will not be provided to third parties, unless we have obtained your consent or if we are legally obliged to provide this personal data.
  14. Personal data and external links on the website of Living Stone Ministries
    Our website sometimes contains references or hyperlinks to other websites outside the domain of Living Stone Ministries. Outside our domain, the privacy regulations of the website in question apply to the handling of your personal data, for which Living Stone Ministries is not responsible.
  15. Your rights
    We use your data to provide you with the best possible service and/or to inform you in writing, by e-mail or by telephone about our activities. You can obtain insight into your data processed by us free of charge. You can have your own data adjusted if they are incorrect or removed by contacting us by e-mail or telephone. If you feel that we are processing your personal data unlawfully or incorrectly, you can have the processing restricted. If you wish, you can also access your contact, address and bank details. You can also request your data in a machine- readable format (right to data portability), for example because you want to pass it on to another charity. You can also object to receiving targeted information about our services sent to you by e-mail, telephone, post and/or SMS. For example, if you have been a donor, the tax authorities require us to keep agreements for 7 years. Also, if you ask that we no longer contact you with marketing, we need to remember your name in order to exclude you from our future campaigns. If we cannot comply with your request, we will of course inform you of the reason.
  16. Use of photographs and video and sound recordings
    During all our services, meetings and events, photographs, video recordings and sound recordings may be made for PR purposes, both online and offline. You have the right to have a photo or video removed when you and/or your child(ren) are undesirably recognizable in the picture.   17. E-mail
    If you have signed up for our digital newsletter, each newsletter contains a link that allows you to unsubscribe.
  18. Personal Data Authority
    Of course we are also happy to help you if you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data.
